The Perfection of Imperfection. What has intrigued me in my work as a goldsmith for over 20 years is the continuous reinterpretation of wearable jewellery and pushing the boundaries of traditional goldsmithing techniques. For my latest collection, I directly set the gemstones in liquid gold, allowing the materials to form a connection that embraces beautiful irregularities. Recycling gemstones and gold from old jewellery is a particular concern of mine, as it conserves valuable resources and gives forgotten treasures a new shine.

They represent a contemporary reinterpretation of the opulent beauty of a bygone era, seamlessly blending the past with the present.

In 2019, I was honored with the Ebbe Weiss-Weingart Silver Prize at the Silbertriennale International and the 19th Competition of the German Society for Goldsmithing in Hanau for my hollowware. I was also nominated for the Danner Prize in 2023. Here, too, my focus is on the beauty of imperfection … the beauty of organic forms that should resonate more with us humans than smooth, standardized shapes.

Because each piece is as unique as we are. 

Die Perfektion der Unperfektion. Was mich in meiner Arbeit als Goldschmiedin seit über 20 Jahren fasziniert, ist die kontinuierliche Neuinterpretation tragbaren Schmucks und das Ausloten der Grenzen traditioneller Goldschmiedetechniken. Für meine neueste Kollektion fasse ich die Edelsteine direkt in flüssiges Gold und ermögliche so den Materialien, eine Verbindung einzugehen, denen wunderschöne Unregelmäßigkeiten innewohnen. Das Recycling von Edelsteinen und Gold aus altem Schmuck ist mir ein besonderes Anliegen, da es wertvolle Ressourcen schont und vergessenen Schätzen neuen Glanz verleiht.

Sie repräsentieren eine zeitgenössische Neuinterpretation der opulenten Schönheit einer vergangenen Ära und verbinden nahtlos Vergangenheit mit Gegenwart.

2019 wurde ich mit dem Ebbe Weiss Weingart Silberpreis bei der Silbertriennale International und dem 19. Wettbewerb der Gesellschaft für Goldschmiedekunst in Hanau für mein Gerät ausgezeichnet. Zudem wurde ich 2023 für den Danner Preis nominiert. Auch hier liegt mein Fokus auf der Schönheit der Unvollkommenheit ... der Schönheit organischer Formen, die uns Menschen mehr ansprechen sollten als glatte, standardisierte Formen.
